Our team of TEFL trainers are leading practitioners in the field of English Language Teaching in South Africa and each have their own particular area of research and expertise.  As well as practical training, our methodology emphasises critical self-reflection, so that you can keep on improving as a teacher after you leave and head out into EFL classrooms across the globe.

UCT is currently one of the few universities in the country with a department dedicated to teaching English as a Foreign Language and is at the forefront of teacher training and development in South Africa.

If you are considering training to become an EFL teacher, you should know that there are few institutions in the world that rival what we offer students at UCT. So, whatever your reasons for wanting to develop or improve your English language teaching skills, I encourage you to make the best possible choice.
